Ali Diallo is a former drawing teacher in Abidjan. He has been working bogolan since the late 1980s, and for a year he has been a master craftsman at the Ndomo Center.

In the outer part of the Ndomo center, a space is dedicated to dyeing. Cotton fabrics are soaked in fixative basins or rinsed with water before being exposed to the sun to dry. An artisan is filtering the fixer fluid (Ngalama), which is prepared from bark from a tannin plant that has been boiled. (Bark of African Work or Wild Grape).
