More than a thousand high school students gathered at Place de la Nation late in the morning to protest the police violence and support the young Theo in the context of an unauthorized protest. Several high schools were blocked that same day. The police encircling the Place de la Nation used tear gas against a crowd mostly made up of miners. Clashes erupted as the police prevented the protesters from advancing in procession.
